Roughly speaking, the meaning of sustainability can be divided into three main areas: ecological, economic, and social.
This simply means that if a product, project, or similar is called sustainable, it improves the environment or has benefits for it. The same applies to the economy and society it affects. So: a product or project is only sustainable if it meets two or three of these criteria.
However, nowadays the term "sustainable" is often simply used to express that something is good for the environment.
Sustainable means Good!
And that's true. Because with climate change and the growing ecological problems, something definitely needs to be done in this regard. As a consumer, it is therefore important to always ensure that a product ideally brings a benefit for all three areas of sustainability, because that way it is ultimately durable and does not disregard anything else.
But economic greed often leads to poor environmental conditions and causes many people to suffer from poor living conditions.
The Golden Mean
The golden mean is key. That's what sustainability stands for. For the future of our planet. For the future of all life on this Earth!
