But since we're on the topic of pumpkins... what can they actually do?
First of all, a little side fact: Botanically speaking, pumpkin is officially classified as fruit, due to the seeds located in the flesh (just like bell peppers, zucchini, and cucumber, by the way).
But pumpkin is also a true hero of autumn for our health. It contains both vitamins, such as vitamin C and beta-carotene, minerals such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, and iron, as well as plenty of fiber.
But not only the flesh of the pumpkin is healthy; its seeds also contain a true treasure. They, and thus also pumpkin seed oil, contain the particularly important vitamin E and linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid). These can help prevent cardiovascular problems and lower cholesterol levels. In addition, the tryptophan (amino acid) contained in the seeds helps trigger happiness hormones.
Small tip: To preserve all the healthy ingredients of pumpkin seed oil, it should not be heated too high.
